Mr. Tanaka has some serious problems about his life style. For example, diets, exercise, and so on. Additionally, his interpretation about health is not correct. Now I'll make some suggestions about his daily life.

First, he is confused about what would be the recommended daily amounts of vitamins and minerals for a man his age. Vitamins help the body turn food into energy and tissues.Minerals are needed for growth and maintenance of body structures. They also help to maintain digestive juices and the fluids found in around cells. The best way to get the vitamins and minerals one's need is by eating a varied, balanced diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Fruits,1 serving is 1 medium apple, banana, or orange; 1 melon wedge;1/2 cup of chopped fruits or berries; 3/4 cup fruit juices. Vegetables, 1 serving is 1 cup raw leafy greens; 1/2 cup other vegetables chopped; 3/4 cup vegetable juice. Whole grains, 1 serving is 1 slice of bread; 1 ounce of ready-to-eat cereal; 1/2 cup cooked cereal, rice or pasta. Also he has big mistakes! He wonder what is the difference between carbohydrates and fats, but these two nutrient should be distinguished. Surely carbohydrates and fats are energy source of our body. But each gram of carbohydrates provide 4 calories, while fats provides 9 calories. Carbohydrates include all starches and foods containing them include beans, bread, cereals, pasta, and potatoes. Fats pack a lot of energy and there are three kinds of fat: saturated, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated. Animal and dairy fats, which remain solid at room temperature, are saturated fats. Saturated fat is often called "bad" fat. Unsaturated fats include vegetable fat and oils. Fat is a valuable energy source and carries fat-soluble vitamins needed for proper growth and development. But too much fat can increase the risk of heart disease, obesity and other health problems.

Secondly, Tanaka doesn't have time to eat breakfast most mornings, and he eats fast food like hamburgers, cheeseburgers or udon at lunch and dinner. In addition to that, he relies on vitamin supplements on coffee and colas. Skip the breakfast causes lack of nutrients we should take. Breakfast is the day's energy source. If we don't take it, our concentration decrease. Also not taking the breakfast results growing fat. And he often eat fast foods but they include many fat,but little vitamins. these fatty foods have high cholesterol and cause high level of LDL. Actually Mr. Tanaka's LDL level is 172. So he should take more balanced diets. First eat foods 3 times in a day, and intake more vitamins and fibers. There are less vitamins in coffee and colas than vegetables and fruits. Mr. Tanaka doesn't like vegetables, but he can't take enough vitamines from coffee or colas. If he can't eat vegetables, he had better eat fruits. Vitamins help the body turn food into energy and tissues, and decrease the risk of cancer. Dietary fiber includes the components of fruits, vegetables, and whole grain cereals that are not readily digested, that is, ingredients of foods that resist breakdown by digestive enzymes. Fiber helps to prevent colon cancer. Next other problem is that Mr. Tanaka doesn't like to exercise. He thinks that he doesn't need to exercise so much. But he often eat fatty foods so he should burn his fat. Exercise prevents over weight and lowers the LDL level. If he doesn't have enough time to exercise, he had better walk for 20 minutes in a day at least. If he has more time, swimming is good for burning body fat.

Last, his family history has some risks of disease. His grandfather and father have diabetes and his mother is ill with a critical heart disease. So he has a risks of these diseases. Tanaka's LDL level is extremely high, which is also concerned as hereditary things. Additionally, he feels lots of stress in his work. Stress causes a high blood pressure, so risks of hereditary diseases may be high. But it is effective to do the exercise and eat vegetables for lowering LDL level. So this problem depends on his efforts.

Perhaps his LDL level is improved if he changed his life style. For that, he should eat a varied diet, and include a variety of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains in the daily diet. But he has some knowledge which is not correct. So at fist he had better get more right information and practice a more healthy life style.
