Hitomi Kamo writes:
Mr.Tanaka has many problems in his lifestyle-behavior, food and so on.
First, he is busy six and sometimes seven days a week, he dose not
have time to eat breakfast most morning, so he takes fast food like
hamburgers, cheeseburgers, or udon at lunch and dinner. Also he relies
on vitamin supplements which he takes with four or five cups of coffee
in the morning and colas in the afternoon. And he really hates most
vegetables, on the other hand, he takes a lot of meat, beef and pork
mostly. More problematic, he has been feeling lots of pressure at work
lately, and he can not relax after work. He does not like to exercise,
he exercises for only about a half an hour once a week. Additionally,
both his grandfather and father have diabetes and Tanaka's mother is currently
ill with a critical heart condition. Mr. Tanaka's LDL level is measured
at 172.
Man needs nutrition for energy, growth, repair, and reproduction.
these materials are called nutrients, these are divided into two main
groups: macronutrients and micronutrient. Macronutrients include
carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Micronutrients include vitamins and
minerals. First, about macronutrients, each gram of carbohydrate
provides 4 calories, fat provides 9, and protein provides 4. These
are need for we grow and act. But animal and dairy fat are saturated
fat called "bad" fat. Second, about micronutrients, there are 13
vitamins. Minerals are not made by plants and animals. Plants get
minerals from water or soil, and animals get minerals by eating
plants or plant-eating animals. To take these nutrition, the best way
is to eat a varied, balanced diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, and
whole grains.
Fiber is also important for us. Fiber helps reduce the rates of some
forms of cancer. Certain kinds of fiber have been found to lower
levels of cholesterol in the blood. A number of foods are good sources
of fiber, including fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and whole
grains. Cholesterol is necessary to the cells and helps the body make
hormones, but too much cholesterol makes arteries
narrow, leading to atherosclerosis.
According to this information, it is clear that many kinds of nutrition are
necessary to our body. The lower his LDL cholesterol levels, the
better off Tanaka will be. So he control the amount of his cholesterol in his
bloodstream. What should he do? He should adjust his diet, because
his family tend to high cholesterol levels. And he needs to reduce the
saturated fat. "To pay attention to eating red meet which has lots of
protein" is important, but taking too much meat is not good. And he
had better take fiber more varied kinds of food. Additionally, he
should exercise at least 10 minutes a day,not only for weight down but
also for his healthy body. So his stress from his work will decrease.
And though he dose not take most breakfast, breakfast is most
important a day, because breakfast supplies lots of energy we need for
work. And fast food is not balanced food, so Tanaka can not take enough
nutrition like vitamins, minerals and fibers. He relies on vitamin
supplements, but he had better take vitamins from vegetables. Meet,
beef and pork include some nutrition like protein, magnesium, iron,
phosphorus, selenium and zinc. But if he takes too many meats, his
cholesterol level will become high. And this is dangerous to his
health, leading often to some forms of sickness, for example, heart diseases. Diabetes relates
to his health as well, as his father and grandfather have diabetes, so he has high
potential also to develop this disease.
