Yuka Aoki writes:
Mr. Mine and Mrs. Mine are very busy because both of them work very hard. Therefore their lifestyle habits are not healthy. They usually skip breakfast or if there's time, they'll fry some foods left over from the day before. When Mr. M comes back home late, he brings some foods, then they eat pizza, yakitori, or chinese noodles late at night. In addition, they scarcely take exercise and eat very few vegetables or fruits.
Mr. MIne has some problems. He has high blood pressure, no opportunity to do regular exercise, and he is a heavy smoker, and he occasionally experiences angina chest pains. His HDL level is low but his LDL level is 170. It's too high. These problems result in risks of various diseases, for example, heat disease, stroke and some kinds of cancers. To solve these problems, he should change some of his habits. First, he should stop smoking. Second, if he has no time to do exercise because of his work, he can go to his office by bicycle or walking as long as he can. Third, he should decrease fried foods and eat more vegetables and fruits. If he changes these points, his LDL level will become gradually lower and he can reduce his risk of some diseases.
Mrs. Mine has some problems, too. Her dietary pattern is not healthy. She eats only two meals a day. In addition, she eats simple meals and sweet deserts for lunch, and eats cheese, eggs, butter, margarine with breads for dinner. These foods include high cholesterol, so both her HDL and LDL levels are high. And she lacks exercise, vegetables and fruits. So, she is overweight. Her several aunts and her mother have developed complications with various cancers. So, she may have risk of various cancers. To solve these problems, she should not eat sweet foods but eat more vegetables and fruits, because vegetables and fruits are plentiful sources of vitamins, minerals, biochemical compounds, and fiber ingredients that may help to reduce cancer risk and her overweight condition. What's more, if she does exercise, she lives more healthily.
Neither Mr. M nor Mrs. M are very careful about what they eat, so they need to change their lifestyle. First, they should eat breakfast. Skipping meals can lead to out-of-control hunger, often resulting in overeating. Second, they should take regular exercise, because regular exercise is important for maintaining a healthy weight and for decreasing the level of LDL. If they keep their levels of LDL high, they have high risk of heart disease and stroke. Third, they should eat more fruits and vegetables. Because they usually eat too many fried foods and sweets. So their LDL levels are high. If they change these points, they will keep themselves healthier.
