Yuko Watanabe writes:
Both Mr and Mrs Mine (M) work hard and that can put stress on them. So they are not very careful about what they eat. They usually skip breakfast or from Monday to Saturday they eat fried food left over from the day before. And they eat many high cholesterol foods and few vegetables. Mr M has no opportunity to do regular exercise and Mrs M's exercise is also lacking. The LDL levels of Mr and Mrs M are similar in terms of being high. But compared to Mrs M's high level of HDL, Mr M has low levels of HDL. Though Mrs M intakes calcium by eating cheese, Mr M intakes little calcium. Mrs M is 10 kilos overweight, but she can't understand the reason.
As for Mr M, he should eat breakfast, for example a slice of bread, salad and milk, because he needs more nutrition in the morning for working well. Besides milk holds much calcium, so he can take calcium. He must eat many vegetables and fruits since they contain many kinds of nutrition; Vitamins, fiber, minerals and so on. At lunch, he should change his menu to low cholesterol foods. When he comes home late at night, he ought not to eat fast food. Because high cholesterol foods, like fried foods and fast food, raise his LDL levels and can cause high blood pressure and angina chest pain. And he should do regular exercise everyday, so LDL will change to HDL and LDL level will come down. In addition, he had better stop smoking since smoking can cause lung cancer.
As for Mrs M, she ought to eat breakfast and many vegetables and fruits as well as Mr M. Skipping breakfast can result in gaining weight, too. She had better take calcium from milk instead of cheese because cheese is high in cholesterol. At lunch, she should skip dessert since dessert contains high calories and cholesterol. Even when eating her dinner alone, she ought not to eat a light menu and must eat nutrient rich foods. If she eat sandwiches, she had better not spread butter or margarine on her bread, so she can reduce her cholesterol gain. Late at night, she should not eat fast food like Mr M. And she had better reduce her intake of fats especially, because fats have been linked to an increased risk of developing breast cancer and her family has a cancer history, including breast cancer. Additionally, she must exercise regularly for reducing weight and risk of cancer.
Both Mr and Mrs M ought not to work too hard because stress can cause various disease. They had better eat dinner together for communicating more and relaxing themselves. And because doing regular exercise everyday alone is difficult, they had better exercise together. On holidays, they should prepare nutrient foods that can be frozen. So when both of them come home late at night and are very tired, they can eat those foods and take in much nutrition. Even if there are no such frozen foods, they ought to make foods that include much nutrition and can be made easily, for example cooked vegetables. And they must be more careful about their nutritional balance.
