Akio Obara writes:
Mr and Mrs Mine (M) plan on continuing their work careers. Because Mr and Mrs M work hard, neither of them are very careful about their daily meals. So there are some problems in their meals.
First, they usually skip breakfast. So they must take whole calories they need every day in their two meals.
Second, they eat a lot of fatty foods and eat few vegetables and fruits for lunch. For example, Mr M's lunch is usually a hamburger or fried chicken or fried fish. Mrs M eats a simple meal for lunch, a bowl of rice with some meat. Furthermore, she eats sweet dessert.
So they intake much cholesterol everyday. And Mrs M intakes much sugar.
Third, they eat some foods late at night. Since Mr M works late, Mrs M eats her dinner alone. She often eats a combination of snack food and sandwiches with cheese or eggs and butter or margarine. In addition, when Mr M comes home late at night, they share fast food that Mr M picks up on his way home. So Mr M and, especially, Mrs M intake many calories before sleeping. And their food that they eat is not a balanced diet: high calories, high cholesterol, and low vitamins.
Additionally, Mr and Mrs M don't do regular exercise. Though they take many calories everyday, they can't consume them. And Mr M is a heavy smoker.
Because of such daily meals and habits, there are early signs that Mr and Mrs M are not in perfect health. For example, Mr M has a low HDL level and high LDL level. His LDL is 170. These are contributing factors in heart diseases, heart attack, myocardial infection. Smoking is also a contributing factor in heart problems.
On the other hand, Mrs M has a high LDL level too. Her LDL is 165. And she is 10 kilos overweight. These are contributing factors in heart disease or diabetes. Additionally, her family has a cancer history. So she also has a risk of cancer.
Then, for a healthy life, what should they do from now on?
First, they should eat breakfast everyday and give up eating some foods late at night. Skipping breakfast and eating late at night are factors of upsetting the rhythm of their bodies and increasing their cholesterol level.
Second, they should take many vegetables and fruits. They lack vitamins; especially Vitamin A and C. Vitamin A (Beta Carotene) helps reduce the risk of cancer. It is included in green vegetables. Vitamin C helps keep Mrs M's skin fresh and youthful. And it helps keep the immunological system in good working order. Vitamin C is included oranges, lemons, and cabbages, and other vegetables.
Third, they should reduce eating fatty foods. Much cholesterol is included in fatty foods. Cholesterol is not always unnecessary. But high cholesterol level in blood is not good. High levels of LDL are usually associated with elevated blood cholesterol and fat being deposited in the arteries. These fatty deposits decrease the interior size of arteries. So the blood supply is reduced, thus increasing the risk of heart disease. LDL levels of less than 130 mg/dL are good and desirable levels. Mr and Mrs M's levels are 170 and 165. They should be decreasing these levels.
Fourth, they should do regular exercise. For example, they could go for a walk in the morning. And they could play sports on their days off. These things will help their LDL levels to decrease.
Additionally, Mr M should give up smoking. Smoking will have a bad influence not only on Mr M but Mrs M.
Finally, this may be none of my business, but it would be better for them to start having children as early as they can. Then they will be more careful about their foods.
