Hiroshi Mizuma writes:
To my great regret, Mr. and Mrs. M's lifestyle is not good for their health. First they don't have a normal habit of eating breakfast. Second their lunch is high in calories: Mr. M eats hamburger or fried chicken or fried fish everyday, and Mrs. M eats some sweet dessert. Their dinner is also poor for health. Mrs. M has dinner alone, a combination of snack food and sandwiches. She eats dinner alone. This is a very sad thing. And Mr. M buys fast food on his way home and share it with Mrs. M.
Mr. M has low levels of HDL and an LDL level over 170, high blood pressure and heavy smoking could lead to developing heart disease. His habits are risk factors of heart disease. Not only does he skip breakfast but Mr. M's worst habit is that he is a heavy smoker. I think stopping smoking suddenly is very severe, so he should make efforts to decrease his smoking day by day. And he should think again about his lunch. His lunch is high in calories and poor in nutrition. If he has salad at his lunch, his nutrition is improving. And he should stop bying fast food on his way home. If he wants someting to eat, he should cook it himself or he should buy more nutritious food for his/their dinner, food that contains many vitamins, like vitamin A, B-2, and E. Vitamins help regulate metabolism, convert fat, carbohydrates into energy, and assist in forming bone and tissue. Furthermore, fiber contained in vegetables and fruits reduce high level cholesterol. If he can, he should make efforts to have time for excercise. If he can, he should make efforts to have time for excercise. Good healthy food and good excercise influence his good health.
Mrs. M is 10 kg overweight and this is a factor for developing cancer of the breast. And she has a history of cancer in her family. She should be very careful about her diet life. Mrs. M had better stop eating sweet desserts after her lunch, and she should have more nutritious foods for her lunch. She has a simple meal for her lunch, and therefore her lunch has many points to improve. I think she should more eat more healthy lunch, for example, salad or fresh juice or fresh fruits and so on. Mrs. M is in her late twenties, and she should take care of her health in more detail. If so, she can advise Mr. M to stop smoking, because the environmental influences of Mr. M smoking are almost equal to Mrs. M smoking. Smoke has bad influences for everyone who is exposed to it.
Their diet style should be changed. First, they need to have breakfast everyday. Second, they have to have more nutritious foods for their lunch. Third, they should have a good dinner together. Eating and talking is one of the best sources of nutrition for their spiritual life. And last, they should make efforts to take excercise. To join a sports club together is good idea, and how about going for a walk together? Changing their life they now lead can mean a happy future.
