a man born blind. at age 53 he had surgery to restore his
sight. the case history reveals a blind man who was active
and extroverted who, after gaining vision, became bored and
severely depressed. three years after the operation he died.

when abundance itself becomes deprivation

there are cases where a patient who finds the reality of
continuous spectacle too painful copes by having a
'conversion reaction' that psychologically causes blindness,
but without any physical impairment of the eyesight
